I arrived at Toronto Pearson International Airport, Canada on September 29th, 2022, just in time to…
- Take part in our Quarter 4 Kick-Off Meeting in our Bloor St. West office in my first week here with some of my colleagues; Eli Boushy, VP of Sales (North America), David Fung, CEO, and Joanna Swanson, HR Manager who made it possible for me to relocate and join the rest of the team in Toronto from the UK. It was great to finally meet some of the team members face-to-face. A big shout out and a Huge thank you to them all.
My journey from the UK to Canada was a smooth one, as were the legalities of getting my work permit alongside other essential documents through Service Canada and Service Ontario, which make it possible to live and work in Canada. Starting my job off in the UK made it easier to seamlessly settle into the role and team once in Canada.
It’s really great to be part of such a forward-looking, multi-cultural organization that is always looking for different ways to engage its customers and for feedback from its employees.
- See the exquisite Fall (Autumn) colours in full effect, showing some of the splendours of Canada, as you can see from the photos.
- Experience part of the treacherous and laborious journey of salmon swimming upstream to lay their eggs, some of them to their own detriment. Not all the salmon survive the journey, while others successfully accomplish the task before heading back downstream to Lake Ontario.
- Take in the beauty and super calming effect of the colourful trails and creeks that I’m surrounded by. After a two-hour walk along the trails and creeks, I felt like I’d had a very long relaxing massage and ended up going to bed early that evening. If you’re looking for a quick fix of dopamine, and serotonin and for your parasympathetic nervous system to be activated in one go without any cost to you (except your time), I’d highly recommend a walk along the numerous trails that Canada has.
I took in some of the sights of downtown Toronto this weekend, albeit from a distance and enjoyed a Caribbean dish, and the CN Tower brought back wonderful memories.
I fell in love with Canada from my first holiday here, and each visit after that simply reinforced my first experience.
I look forward to many more life and work-enhancing experiences on my journey here in Canada. In the meantime, I will use this photo of the bridge along the trails as a symbol of the bridge to make that happen.
Simply awesome!
